This serum with niacinamide (vitamin B3) contains a high concentration (10%) as well as Zinc PCA to target dullness, uneven texture, and excess oil. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% also helps reduce the appearance of pores and instantly boosts skin radiance.

This serum is a water-based formula that brightens your skin, makes it smoother, and strengthens your skin barrier over time. The salicylic acid in this formula targets pore congestion and helps to remove dead skin cells and excess oil, which promotes softer, smoother skin.to exfoliate after cleansing.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a potent serum that regulates sebum production and blemish-causing bacteria for a visibly clearer complexion.

It contains a high 10% concentration of Niacinamide (vitamin b3) and zinc PCA. As a topical application, it was used to target the appearance of uneven skin tone and more recently has shown that it can target signs of aging, enlarged pores, and dry skin.

How does it do this? Let’s look at the science behind niacinamide and how this ingredient supports skin barrier function.

Niacinamide helps strengthen the skin’s lipid barrier, which is crucial for maintaining moisture and protecting against environmental aggressors. By supporting the skin’s natural content of ceramides and fatty acids, niacinamide helps to prevent transepidermal water loss, keeping the skin hydrated and resilient.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity. Independent studies suggest Niacinamide is also an effective ingredient for brightening skin tone.  Get skin smoothness and reinforces the skin barrier over time.

Contraindications: If topical Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid and/or Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid) is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with this formula (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, Niacinamide can affect the integrity of the Vitamin C.

Notes: While Niacinamide and Zinc PCA reduce the look of blemishes and balance visible sebum activity, neither is a treatment for acne. For persistent acne-related conditions, we recommend the use of Benzoyl Peroxide and/or Retinoic Acid.

How to Use?

Apply to the entire face morning and evening before heavier creams. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Keep out of reach of children.

When incorporating Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% into your regimen, we suggest using it as part of the Treat step of a regimen, after cleansing. Because this serum is water-based, it can be applied closer to the beginning of your regimen before any anhydrous, creams or emulsions. It can also layer well with other ingredients, such as Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. We do not recommend pairing with Direct or Indirect Vitamin C as it can reduce the effectiveness of both ingredients.
