Clove is used in any food, whether spicy or sweet. The clove tree is evergreen. We use the flower buds of this tree as a spice . This fragrant spice adds a slightly spicy flavor to food. The main reason for its fragrance is a compound called ‘eugenol’ present in it. This eugenol, which has medicinal properties, acts as a painkiller and disinfectant.
